Oil on linen panel
These pears were a gift and came boxed with green tissue paper, which I
staged on the blue dish for the painting. My original painting included
the paper, but it looked too much like lettuce. So I changed the paper
to a creamy tone and then it looked like dough. I wiped the whole
thing, but this was over a period of time, so the pears survived the
wipe and I liked them enough to have another go at it. This is the
result. One of these days, I'll take the time to practice painting
paper! I see some great examples of it on the Daily Paintworks website!
